Following his senior year in high school, Mr. Green participated in the Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange in German. While there, he studied bassoon with Christian Kunert, solo bassoonist of the Hamburg Philharmonic and Hamburg State Opera. He also earned a position in the Albert Schweitzer Jugendorchester and later in the Harvestehuder Sinfonieorchester for the season.
Mr. Green received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan studying with Dr. Jeffrey Lyman. While at Michigan, Mr. Green was honored to be a member of the Symphony Band China Tour. He took part in masterclasses with Markus Weidmann, Steven Dibner and Jeffrey McCray. Upon completing his degree, he continued his studies at Northwestern University under the tutelage of Christopher Millard and David McGill. He has participated in the Aspen Music Festival and AIMS Graz.
Mr. Green is currently principal bassoon of the Ann Arbor and Oakland Symphony Orchestras. He also performs with the Ann Arbor Symphony Woodwind Trio, Rochester Symphony, Lansing Symphony and the Cut-Time Players. He maintains a private studio in Ann Arbor and the surrounding communities. He plays on a Fox 601.
