Piano Concerto Concert with Piano Soloists from the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance: Friday, January 19 at 8 p.m. at Hill Auditorium
There will be a free A2SO side-by-side concert with the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance and piano soloists on Friday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. at Hill Auditorium.
This A2SO concert presented by the School of Music, Theatre and Dance is the culmination of a two-part intensive education and enrichment program that allows for doctoral-level pianists and other string players to rehearse and perform side-by-side with the professional players of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, and for master coaching sessions for all SMTD piano students directly with Maestro Arie Lipsky. The result of this collaboration is this special concert featuring four DMA Candidates performing with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra in concert at Hill.
The program is:
Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3, op. 37 in C minor, performed by Susan Yang
Ravel Piano Concerto in G major performed by Annie Jeng
Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4, op. 58 in G major performed by Hyejin Cho
Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 3, op. 26 in C major performed by Natalia Kazaryan
This year’s collaborative education and enrichment initiative between the A2SO and the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance lays the foundation for a long-term opportunity to give these wonderfully talented students professional-world performance experience early in their careers.
This concert is free of charge and all are welcome to attend.
