Pianist Kathryn Goodson, an international performer, teacher and coach, has given collaborative recitals with vocalists and instrumentalists throughout the U.S, Europe and Japan. She is a collaborative pianist/coach for the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance, and enjoys regular ensemble and chamber music playing with both the Detroit and Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestras. Her playing has been documented by Innova, Albany and Equilibrium recording labels. Belle Nuit, a 2-CD set of romantic, lyrical French music for wind instruments with piano, was curated and produced by Kathryn, and released by Navona Records in 2014. She is co-founder and director of Concerts4aCause a collaborative series between First Baptist and Northside Community Churches of Ann Arbor, and thrilled to be starting her 11th season of A2SO KinderConcerts with Gari Stein.
Kathryn's projects have included an annual week-long master class for American and African-American Art Song at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, Germany and a class offered to American schools, Songs4Winds. Additionally she has organized Charles Ives Festivals over the years in Stuttgart, Ann Arbor, Detroit and Boston. Fluent in German and a Fulbright Scholar twice, Kathryn received the Konzertexam in Liedgestaltung with highest honors from the Musikchochschule Karlsruhe, the MM and DMA in Collaborative Piano from the University of Michigan, and the BM in Piano Performance from Oberlin Conservatory. www.kathryngoodson.com
